Joyful Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations at Derozio Boarding School
Hazaribagh, Aug 16:
Derozio Boarding School came alive with devotion, colour, and cheer as the students and staff celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with great enthusiasm. The school campus wore a festive look, decorated with flowers, rangoli, and images depicting the life of Lord Krishna.
Children, dressed as Lord Krishna, Radha, and gopis, radiated charm as they participated in cultural performances. Skits portraying episodes from Krishna’s childhood, devotional songs, and traditional dances filled the atmosphere with joy and spiritual fervour. The highlight of the celebration was the “Matki-Phod” event, where the little ones symbolically enacted Krishna’s playful mischief, much to the delight of everyone present.
The teachers and parents witnessed the performances with admiration and warmth. The occasion became a platform where mutual affection between parents, teachers, and children blossomed naturally, reflecting the true spirit of Janmashtami — love, togetherness, and joy.
Speaking on the occasion, the school authorities emphasized the importance of introducing cultural and spiritual values to children at an early age. They highlighted that such celebrations nurture creativity, instil moral lessons, and strengthen bonds of community.
The day concluded with the distribution of prasad, and the smiles on the children’s faces stood testimony to the happiness the festival had brought. The event at Derozio Boarding School was not only a tribute to the birth of Lord Krishna but also a celebration of innocence, unity, and the timeless bond of affection between teachers, parents, and their beloved students.
